The Sultans Song

The Sultans Song

A Poem by Sirajudin Matin

Some sad sultan’s song
Played across his harp today.
As he gazed upon the crystal image,
Under some beautiful overpass…

The smile on his Brother’s face,
Reminds him of a pasts bitter taste,
And he gags upon the stench,
As maggots wrestle through the broken skin.

At sight of nature’s company,
This man can’t help but grin,
For just as he had always wanted,
His brother had new friends.

Ever since the seraph left,
The siren stopped its hymn,
As ships never sailed to far,
Before the Kraken pulled them in.

Glaring down upon the body
At what just wouldn’t fade,
For his illusion… All that’s physical…
Remains…
