Like a FireA Poem by QuirkyPandaLove is like a fire. Some are small, ignited wicks, Shedding a speck of light, But then the wind of life Swoops in and smothers the budding flame. Beware the love of a raging fire. This fervent fire is chaotic and wild, Passionate. But when you meddle with such a flame, You will always, always get burned. Yes, this form of inferno is enticing, exciting, mesmerizing, With life’s breeze billowing and blowing, Causing this flare to grow and grow until it’s too much. But, you’ll keep getting burned and burned Until the lesson is learned and walked away. Search for the smoldering embers of love. While not nearly as bright or lush, It’s still warm, persistent, and strong And can last forever, With the wind tending to it, Keeping it alive, but never raging wild. This kind of love warms the soul And lasts forever.
