Poison me.

You will sicken.
Lay waste my bounty.
You will starve.
Burn my lungs.
You will suffocate.
Sell my bones.
You will not prosper.
Heal me,
Save your self.

It is the way of our Universe isn't it? What we put out there will come back to us and not in the way we expect it too. I like the last two lines of course the best they are unique in the poem but possess the most power to me. I was never good at getting a message across in short poetry form so this poem of yours is splendid and wonderful to me. Excellent wisdom.

And that's how it works, very simply put. I wish the earth-rapers understood this.

Thank you SW :o) I have no real talent for brevity. This piece was written for a 30 words or less challenge asking us to give Mother Earth a voice. While the theme is near and dear to me, the 30 words or less had me sweating bullets as if I was participating in an intense physical work out.... word wrestling lol. I too believe that we get out of Life exactly what we put into it. So very glad you enjoyed this piece, and I greatly appreciate you taking the time to offer feedback. Thanks!

Ed, sorry for the late reply, but I too am grateful we are One :o) Nothing good comes easy. If Humanity ever does reach an Awakening, every trial will be worth it.

"extracorporeal bubble", love it! I never understand that attitude of "not my concern" even though I realize that most of us are sleep-walking through out lives. Awakening is never an easy process, but it becomes more vital to our collective whole with each passing day. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and review my posts here, always appreciated!

Selene hit the nail on the head - we take, debase - steal - and give what back... yet we ignore that it actually affects us - I think far too many live in an extracorporeal bubble - as if it isn't our business - a shame!! but a great poem!!
