I Wouldn'tA Poem by Quilled_PenmanA true love metaphor.I Wouldn’t
If offered options to switch I wouldn’t, In light of how life moulded my being, I wouldn’t thwart my current situation, I wouldn’t alter the life that I’m seeing.
Staring up at the shining infinite stars, An illusion of your face appears to me, Pondering a fallen-star’s luminous tail, You grasped my hip hugging carefree.
I imagined your perky eyes in a flower, Your satiny lips formed from its petals, The sweet alluring scent it contained, My heart discovered a home to nestle.
Your heart resembled a forest bloom, Limbs extend like arms caressing me, Your colourful beacon leads me back, The shed leaves were love-memories.
A weaving creek trickles ahead of us, The current laden in my endless love, Pools held your expansive affections, The reflections our omen from above.
A mossy capped stone our resolution, Strengthened where love is steadfast, Not shaken or split apart by upheaval, Foretold our romantic union shall last.
The gentle wind brushing on my face, Paralleling me your love was present, An extension drenched our fiery love, Music awakens in my heart constant.
You beautify my nightfall ocean-view, Fanciful amber-tones overwhelm me, Stargazing the precious pleasantries, Until morning illuminates your beauty.
Sweetly oriole whistling in your voice, The new breathtaking day will marvel, Only elevating my indulgence for you, Piercing choruses are lush and fertile.
Love’s a compass directing me to you, Inside your eyes of insight was a door, A passageway your loving arrow held, Eclipsing of any starlight-lit splendour.
If offered options to switch I wouldn’t, In light of how life moulded my being, I wouldn’t thwart my current situation, I wouldn’t alter the life that I’m seeing.
