I hide
A Poem by Quiettlove
My truth
they think I hide
to conceal my beauty
to protect my precious
for nobody to look at
but the one
if only they knew
that my pearl needs no hiding
for hungry eyes
who cannot stop staring
because of its glistening elegance
I tightly close my shell
for no one to know
how burning eyes
a churning stomach
feel like
for no one to see
what real ugly looks like

Oooh. This piece takes on an interesting twist in my opinion. I see the energy and fear in this piece as being the fear of unleashing what one can't control. Akin to the thought, "Eye shut my eyes for I wish not for you to know the universe within." Or perhaps, it might be as simple as a fear that manifests when one sees eyes that aren't as honest as their own.
Either way, great ink!

It certainly has several meanings to it, in addition to your wonderfull depiction. It could be understood in a more literal fashion too, which I guess could be coherent with your explanation. Anyways, anyone can understand or recognize something from it, whatever represents feelings close to them. I guess that's the beauty of poetry, no limits :) Thank you again for your review. It's much appreciated.
