Over The River

Over The River

A Poem by Dylan S.
"

The hands of the many must join as one...

"
They do it so often.

They express their misery,

so openly and freely,

without care or worry.

I wish I was like them.

Confident, yet weak.

I feel like I have to

keep these feelings inside.

These feelings of darkness.

Misery. Depression. Sadness.

I'm afraid if I express this often,

I'd be seen as weak.

Insignificant. Worthless.

Would anyone even care?

Would anyone carry me

across the river?

Author's Note

Dylan S.
At this point, I'm using this site to cry silently among strangers. I don't mean this against anyone; I just wish I could openly express my depression among my friends. I'm afraid of them judging and misunderstanding my situation.

...But I guess that's part of the weakness, is it?

The quote is a lyric from the song "The Humbling River" by Puscifer. I think it aptly describes my problems.
