Chaos

Chaos

A Poem by Quiet Waters Rise

My world is spinning

As today, chaos reigns

I reach for clarity

But the confusion remains

My heart aches for solitude

To find some quiet peace

Instead I find loneliness

And those mistaken beliefs

It is in these weak moments

That my focus is lost

But still, I will press on

No matter the cost

I know in my heart

That I will find the way

Even across these fields of chaos,

Yes, I will find it someday

"My heart aches for solitude

To find some quiet peace

Instead I find loneliness

And those mistaken beliefs" ~ I like this line... Its good how you rhyme without sounding too forced. It's not an easy job to do, so well done x

I like the idea of 'fields of chaos'. It has a very nice ring to it.
The tone to this poem is very strong. My only critique is that there are one or two lines that seem to be here solely for the sake of the rhyme (the last lines of stanzas 2 and 4 were the ones that jumped out at me). While the content in these lines is excellent, their position, and their rhyme-ness (for lack of a better term) felt a bit forced. I wish I could advise how to go about revising this, but I don't want to change the original feeling of the poem itself. As a whole, I think it is a very strong piece of writing. I look forward to seeing how you revise it (if at all!) in the future.
