Grandma Doris

Grandma Doris

A Poem by QuietPoet
"

RIP Grandma.. We will miss you so much..

"

Grandma Doris
We all knew this day would come
But we didn’t think it would be now..
You are the kind of grandma
That would smile in any given day
And light up the entire sky
You always loved giving the best hugs
I remember you always telling me
That I’m such a great kid
And you asked if I would
Come take care of you at home
And I always said of course
I have kept all the memories inside
All the Christmases, Birthday’s, Thanksgiving’s
Mother’s day’s, Father’s day’s, and get together day’s
You were always there with the same loving smile
We always enjoyed your company,
You gave a warm feeling in our hearts
Always giving and generous
I always liked our little talks
Just about how life is
And what’s new in it
You were always so sweet
No matter what was going on
You always found a reason to smile
You remind me a lot of myself
If I could pick anyone to be
I would choose you,
Because you have been an
Inspiration and a role model
Not just anyone lives to be 90
And no one has a heart like yours
Tears drip from my eyes as I write these words
I sit and think about all of the holiday’s coming up
I wanted you there for my 21st birthday
Sharing the laughs at Thanksgiving dinner
And for one last Christmas eve opening presents
It just won’t be the same without you..
Grandma Doris was a mother, daughter, sister,
grandmother, wife and friend.
But most importantly she was a soul
A lovely angel that spread her wings
Throughout the starry skies
And into the hands of us
I will miss you, Grandma.
So much..

Honestly to this day and it's been about five years now i have not been back to Tennessee to visit relatives because that is where they were from or go see the grave stones because its still too much for me... overall a very powerful write,...
