Last Breath

Last Breath

A Poem by QuietPoet
"

Grandma, I love you <3

"

Last Breath
I’m crying my eyes out
While I write this down
I couldn’t do it anymore
I tried my hardest to be strong
But it was just to hard
Your laying on your death bed
We all know your going real soon
There’s just no more in you..
Its all up to you to let go
I tried to keep myself busy
To avoid crying and being sad
But tonight, I just can’t..
I feel it all inside
Just ready to burst
Into flames and tears
I keep telling all of you that I love you
I keep giving out hugs and kisses
Because this has hit me so hard
Its made me realize that life is short
And if one I love you will make a difference
Then I’ll say it a million times
When I should have said it to you
Now when you take your last breath
Please know that I love you
And as the tears fall from these eyes
Give me strength to recover
Let me be strong and carry on
When you go up to heaven
Please watch over them,
That’s all I ask
And that’s all I want
I love you, so much..
I’m sorry I didn’t say it as much
As you close your eyes
Take this warm kiss with you
And we will see you again
I will never say goodbye..

Ach, tis sad when g'parents are no more. Usually our first encounter with death, unless we are unlucky enough to be an inner city kid in which case we may never know our g'parents or we may see our peers die badly. We learn much from our grandparents one way or another, even about dying.
