Acceptance

Acceptance

A Poem by QuietPoet
"

Accept people for who they are, even if they are messed up, they need it more than anyone..

"

Acceptance
I see differently
And I am a completely
Good hearted soul
I look for the good in people
Even if they have done
Something that was their doing
I still feel sympathy for them
You can sit there and tell me I shouldn’t
But I’m going to argue right back and say
That you should feel something for them
Because these people need it
A friend of mine told me
Just listen to what they have to say
And you’ll do a lot more than you realize
I do that every single day to all kinds of people
I can see them slowly approach me with trust
They put their hands on it, but pull away
Sooner or later they’ll let me in
But I’m not down their throats about it
I wait patiently for them to open up
They may never do, but I least I tried
I don’t feel like I failed
Because they taught me a lesson
All they want is to be accepted
Everyone wants to be
It shouldn’t be hard to accept
The people that have been through so much
When they need it the most in their lives
The funny thing is these people
Are trying to make themselves better
But people have a hard time believing in them
Each day that goes by
Deep down I can see and feel that it is
Getting so much better for them to live
They are normal people just like you and I
Who are we to judge what happened to them
It’s what make them who they are
They are people with a very heartbreaking story
That are dying to tell anyone that breaths
So they see me, a walking normal human being
With such a sweet attitude towards everything
I am a huge believer
And I believe in them
They’ll always be welcomed in my heart
I’m willing to offer my hand and give them a lift
Medication can only do so much
But hearts can change a person completely..

I was drawn to this by the notes..acceptance
I see different ,I look for what is good in everyone..I am patient and I listen
To the pains and turmoils..slowly approach them with trust
Soon they let you in..so they open up..at least I tried
All want to be accepted..all want to fit in,you never judge them
Have the heart to take them in,they are dying to tell their breath
I am a believer and they are always welcome to my heart

Such wonderful words of compassion and understanding... we are all human and as humans we error so forgiveness is a wonderful thing, we must always remember that we are not perfect either. I too look for the best in everyone and forgive up to a point. There does come a point where sometimes you realize people are beyond kindness. I do feel you on this one.

Kylie, you are a special person that I am most positive has made a difference for the better in more than one persons life. I am certain those you work with on a daily basis are impacted by your keen awareness of humanity's needs. Without a doubt they recognize that at least one person believes in them, though they have fallen by the wayside and traveled a less desirable path in life. It is kindred souls like yourself that DO make a difference in this life, this world for all others. Whether it is ever seen or not. What you are striving for is not a lost cause, as some would have one to believe. What people don't realize is that we NEVER know who we are rubbing shoulders with or judging. These people you are pleading for very well could be artists, lawyers, doctors, business persons, teachers, public servants, etc. No walk of life or social status is immune to the pitfalls that we all are tested with. I admire your courage and determination. Even if you only reach one out of all in this world, then your efforts will have been worth while, and priceless. Most anyone on this planet has at least one moment in their life, no matter how great or small, they can reflect on and honestly say they don't know what they would have done if everyone had given up on them. Our fate in this life is faith itself. Not necessarily from a religious point of view, but faith in our fellow human beings. Without faith, we are nothing. We have to believe in order to achieve. I can only hope that others will see your efforts and follow your example as a humanitarian. Though it is clearly not needed, I simply encourage you to continue with your efforts. Even though I have said much here, there's not enough words to express my appreciation of your Excellent piece of work. Not to mention the appreciation I have for you as a human being. It is an honor to be of your acquaintance.
