Rock and Roll Cowboy started all this. Then Sandy Beaches wrote about it. Then I took a go at it. It really gets you thinking. Thank you both for inspiring me.

Heart Over Mind

I am always hearing
Mind over matter,
But sometimes I wonder
In the end
Does the mind matter?
When it comes to love
It don’t know jack.
The word compassion
Is like a foreign land.
It analytical ideas
Only hinder humanity.
Maybe we would be better off
If the heart ruled the mind.

Heart Over Mind… (Spin Off)

What would happen if the heart led the mind
Would the world be warmer or less unkind?
If your life was led by your heart what would you do?
Think more of others? And less of you?
Give all you can and not worry what was left?
Or protect what’s for your own
And give a little less!
So many thoughts to ponder in this simple little write
A struggle for the correct answer
Yet brings what’s right to light…

Heart Over Mind (continued)

The heart has so much feeling
But the mind has overpowering thoughts
Where it might beat the heart
And overtake the emotion
But the heart does have strength
With love, passion, and care
The mind leaves you with risky decisions
And wind up in difficult situations
That’s why you follow the heart
But some may say, that only leads into heartache
So your right back where you started

I love these 3 lines

Sooo true, so I guess a good theory would be like Cowboy says
there are no winners!

In the end the Mind needs the Heart
and the Heart needs the mind, it's a colaboration of the two
that makes us love and decide and our free Will is
what makes us choose!!!!

this was awesome... thanks for the addition..
Cowboy it's your fault lol

I'm beginning to wonder what any of it is for? The heart always seems to be confused about what matters. If it weren't for the heart, we'd never be hurt. And people couldn't play their pitiful games so well. But in the end, if it weren't for the heart... we would never accomplish anything. For it is what is in the heart that moves mountains... Outstanding.

Wow this is great how you all continue on this idea its really cool to see how each person adds on helping to solve or to at least somewhat understand the mystery between the head and heart. Do you guys mind if I take a crack at it and see where I get???

Boy and the thoughts and theories continue... I love your look at how they clash like warriors fighting for honor, it is a timeless battle and like in any war there are no winners... I am honored by your addition to this debate.
