My Rocky Road

Ive havent really written a poem in this style, not in a long time anyways. So enjoy.

My Rocky Road

I’m back on this rocky road
And its been such a long drive
Everything seems to change
And I’ve only lost myself

On the road, I’ve found life
A lot of hope, love, and faith
But a lot of things are missing
And that’s where the bumps in the road appear

I protect my heart with a metal wall
And if your strong enough
You will be able to find your way around
And I’ll be standing there with a smile

I am very delicate like a feather
You have to handle me with care
If you drop me, I will fall to the empty ground
With nothing to catch or save me..

It takes a lot for me to trust
But that doesn’t mean to give up
Just make me believe you won’t hurt me
And I will open every bit of me to you

It doesn’t take a lot for me to love
I love the smallest thing on earth
If it were a lady bug to a human being
I’d fight for its life

Sometimes I think I should just start over
Everything that I've dreamed of
Has become so much harder than I realized
And every step I take feels like my feet are dragging..

Don’t ask me what’s at the end of the road
Either it be a dead end or a path to happiness
I do know everyone that loves me will be there
And that’s all what truly matters in life
