Fearing The Outcome

Fearing The Outcome

A Poem by QuietPoet
"

It sucks to have to have insurance and money to get a simple check up... It really does..

"

Fearing The Outcome
“You’ve NEVER had a Pat Smear??”
I always say “no, I don’t have insurance..”
Which isn’t a lie, I really don’t
But I had it when I was in College..
Why I didn’t go?
Because I’m scared..
I fear the doctor walking towards me
With that sad, worried look in his eye..
And he speaks with a stutter
The bad news he gives me
My heart crumbles into millions of pieces
Leaving me and my loved ones torn apart..
I don’t think I’m strong enough for all that..
I know if something is wrong,
It could be fixed..
But maybe I don’t even want to know..
I dread the doctor..
But who knows,
I might walk out of there
Healthy as can be..
I promise all of you,
I will go as soon as I get the money
Or when I get insurance..
Just make me a promise..
If its bad news, please send me prayers..
Or any kind of hope that I’ll live..
And keep me strong..
That’s all I ask…

Yeah, insurence is the reason the economy is screwed up in my opinion. We are guranteed life, liberty, and happiness at a high cost. We pay the men and women who run or protect country dimes, while our Doctors, Hospital, Lawyers, and Insurence companies are spoon-fed our everlast dollor. It is sad the only aspect of our democracy that has not been socialized is our health care system and I hope that in my life time I see a socialist America.
