We Are Nothing..

We Are Nothing..

A Poem by QuietPoet

We Are Nothing..
For the first time in my life,
I felt like a stranger to them..
Like they had no purpose for being in our home..
I sat across the room
Looking at both of them
With every bad thought you could imagine..
Trying not to blow up,
For all of their lies and corruption
For causing so much pain with our family..
They were my best friends, my sisters, and my everything..
What am I suppose to do when I can’t accept what you’ve done..
All the time I’ve wasted on feeling bad for you
All the fights we had with our parents for sticking up for you,
All of the secrets I kept so we didn’t have to fight with them..
It was all for nothing…
I tried to accept your boyfriend for what he did..
I never forgave him and I never will..
I shouldn’t have to..
You make me feel like we are nothing to you,
Sometimes I think your just here for a place to stay
You take an advantage of us..
If I asked you to choose us over him,
You would choose him…
And we are the ones that care the most for you
Why can’t you see what he is doing..
He will never be able to take care of you..
He gets mad because your with your family,
He gets upset when you have to go because your tired..
Doesn’t that tell you something?
He has you wrapped around his finger so tight
No one can set you free..
Not even me…

I agree with brighteyes. You need to speak your mind but also be there when she falls. Bad relationships are only bad in hindsight. It sucks that the ones so close to the problem can't see it but in the same sense that is the problem. They are too close to realize what is going on.

I understand that you feel hurt and neglected, but you do have to remember that she is your sister and that if you are as intellegent as you are, then deep down she has to have at least SOME of the same intelect. All you can do is be there for her when she breaks down.

the words: I told you so, should never leave your lips. Trust me it is a bad thing. Keep your chin up, things can only get better from here.

while I know you feel that your sister is in a bad spot here, that she is in a relationship that is hurting her, and has the potential to hurt her further, you can't make another's decisions. You can speak your mind, have your say, but be careful there. If you are right in all you believe, there will come a time when your sister will need you there by her side. closing those doors will leave her no where to turn when she needs someone most. I can feel your pain here, and your hurt. and yes, you need to express those things, not hold them in. Just be certain that you keep those pathways open, so that she feels free to travel them when the need arises.

Such a shame...that a bond as close as sisterhood would be wasted for the sake of a boy...they have made their choice, that much is clear, but though we all wish it were different, it was their choice to make, so please do not take it out on yourself..you have done everything possible to keep your family together, and I know your parents are proud of you...perhaps one day your sisters will wake up to the wonderful sibling they have..until then, just live your life..no one can ask more..
