Driving

Driving

A Poem by QuietPoet
"

I love driving. But when you do it alot, you begin to watch everyone around you. And you have to, esp in my city. Beware of some language..

"

Driving

Passing all the cars on the freeway

Looking at every single driver

A guy driving in the right lane, taking his time

Rockin’ out to his metal music

A woman driving in the middle lane

Looking so sad, dead to her face..

Four business men, riding along

Talking about their next plan

A couple yelling and screaming at each other

Not paying any attention to the road

Brother and sister fighting in the back

Driving the mom mad

A lady just talking it up on her cell phone

Probably about stupid gossip and holding up tons of traffic

And the a*****e behind me wants to go 90mph

But I don’t move over,

So he speeds pass me giving me the finger, well FU too.

An independent truck driver

Looks so dirty and tired, and just trying to get home..

Then there is me in the left lane

Fully aware of every driver

Every move they make

My eyes forward, behind and the side of me

And I feel each and every drivers emotion

Just by their face expressions

Finally I get to where I need to be

And thank God I made it safely.

Yeah I understand about drivers. Lots of people turn up their rap music so loud. Overall I love it.

That about sums up Las Vegas highway drivers. But I'm sure everyone can relate. Very observant though I doubt this is a real occurrence in one sequence. But you described every type of driver effortlessly. I enjoyed!

Very deep and observant. I love the way you describe each "type" of driver on the highway. It really is a recipe for disaster, and every time we arrive safely at our destinations, it is truly a miracle to thank God for. Loved this piece.

Thanks for the read request. At 2:30am what a wonderful piece to end the night on. My search is over. Next time I will just turn to you. I really enjoyed the raw emotions of the truth we all see out there. Some of us are those people we need to watch for. Thankfully someone is watching out for us as well. Great write. Again thanks and have a wonderful night.

This was a fun read. I have an hour drive to and from work. I do this everyday. I often wonder how people can drive and do the things they do. I've seen women putting on makeup, people reading the paper and novels, working on the computer for crying out loud....
Oh, and the people that are behind you and want to go 90, don't get me started....
Fun read.

haha! This is great! The last line, wrapped it all up perfectly, bringing home your entire point! All of the chaos going on in cars, big huge hunks of metal transporting our fragile flesh and bones from point A to point B, while we carelessly act as if we are in our living rooms, not giving our drive the attention we should, risking the lives of everyone around us, including ourselves!! Daily.

Great job!!
