1 Month And 9 Days

I was looking forward to graduation... But I just want it to freeze and not go on.. Because it will be just like it is now... Fighting this alone...

1 Month And 9 Days

I am counting down the days

Till I walk down to receive my degree

1 year of working hard at what I want

15 months of being tired and beat

Meeting my best friends

Living without them for 3 months

Trying to fight this alone..

I am counting down the days

Till I see my friends

I can put my arms around them

See their smiles

And hear their laughs

I am dreading to say goodbye again

Its been so hard for 3 months

How am I going to do it for a lifetime?…

I am counting down the days

Till you can hold me tight

And kiss me like you mean it

You get to meet my family

And my crazy friends

See me walk at my graduation

And get on the plane and leave..

How am I going to let you go?….

I am counting down the days?

For what? I will be left with just a degree…

"Just a degree"? I think not, sweetheart. Blood, sweat and tears are all a part of this accomplishment. You know that.

Ahh . . . but so much more, as you have poetically portrayed throughout this poem. Somehow, someway, everything you want, will fall perfectly into place.

I like how this goes back and forth..In the beginning your degree appears to be everything you've worked for and then in the end you say "I will be left with just a degree..."
However, you are not left with just a degree! You are left with experience and lessons to help you in your future career..You have so much ahead of you!

The experience you gain from this trial are worth a few tears my friend. That may not seem like the case right now, but you will look back and see the silver lining in these clouds. The beautiful thing about having to let those you care for go, is that it makes room for new friendship and love to be formed. Great write...
