Protect My Family I receive a phone call at 12:30am Its one of my brothers friends Asking to speak to my parents I asked who was calling and I know him I told him who I was and he told me what happened My brother was hurt.. He got a broken nose and a black eye I rushed into my parents room And woke my dad up We jumped into the car and went to get him We pulled up to this house with cops in front My brother comes out with a bag of ice And his shirt and pants were all bloody He had tears falling from his eyes He could barely say a word Whatever happened in that house Put my brother in shock.. Seeing him in this much pain About broke my heart No one wants to see the ones they love hurt Whoever done this to him, will get what they got coming I didn’t sleep well that night.. He was in the hospital Kept thinking about what if it would have killed him.. When they got home, the yelling began.. I hate how when we run into trouble You always put us down.. Saying its not your problem.. But you want us to come to you whenever we need Well he needed you and you just yell? I know he screws up a lot But this time, it wasn’t his fault… But you still blame him The yelling kept me up The fear is keeping me up tonight.. Because the guy that came after my brother Made bail, they let him out… How could they? They broke my brother’s nose Threw one of his friends down the stairs Another is in intensive care And one with a damaged eye.. I drove to work today.. I got out and looked up at the sky And said a prayer for my family To have them protected I don’t care what happens to me As long as they are safe.. © 2008 QuietPoetReviews
