Graduation

Graduation

A Poem by QuietPoet

Graduation
As I walk out of the last class
I say goodbye to the desks I sat in
I say farewell to the teachers
I walk out to my car looking back
All of the memories hit me
The day we have all been waiting for is here
The moment of marching away with pride
Thinking we finally did it
Ours lives are just beginning
And no one can take that from us
As I walk up to receive my diploma
I gaze out to the crowd
See tears and smiles fall from my parents
I look over at my friends that came to support me
All of the regrets and doubts fade away
All of the worries and fears weaken
I know I will be the person I am years to come
The dreams that I have fantasized about will appear
As I walk off the stage
I smile with believe and faith
We all deserve to be proud of
We conquered one major goal in life
We will defeat another one
If we did it once, we can do it again
As I walk with my graduating class
I say goodbye to each and every one
Tell them to believe and become the person they want
And we all will spread our wings and fly

Aw. It was sweet. I didn't actually enjoy my grad ceremony simply because of a chain of events, but the emotions are true even if felt early or belated. :)
