Paris, The World

Paris, The World

A Poem by Jones Johnsey

How did we become this way

Aren’t we all inhabitants of this earth

The lines on a map

The words in a book

They draw us further apart

While eventually, those lines will fade

Those words will be forgotten

And when that day comes

We will finally see clear

That we are all human

We will look back with regret and sorrow

For we had deceived ourselves

Thinking we were different from each other

Countries  Nations  Religions

Divided

How is it we couldn’t see the truth

That we are all and utterly the same
