Away for a WhileA Poem by Quetzalcata glimpse of mind
''I'm tired of it all.''
Is all they heard her say ''I'll just go sleep a while..'' And she was on her way. As crick-crack-crock The old walls crumbled she unlock'd the lock and in she stumbled- The air smelled sweetly Of honey-dipped pines She's lost completely Between her own lines Sometimes monsters And sometimes fae Sometimes strangers Would come her way The monsters helped (sometimes too much) She sob'd and she yelp'd When she let them touch ''Time stays still, it seems'' She said out loud to hear ''In one of them weird dreams'' And not a soul was near Sticky were the walls And the floor quite wet In those endless halls Not easy to forget ''I'll wake up, soon enough'' She picked up her pace As ha-ha-ha, a scary laugh Rattled down the place ''You're going nowhere'' Was all that it said But it didn't chase her, She wouldn't have fled. ''Well, I'm guessing then'' She said in a daze ''I'll stay here once again'' in delirium's maze. © 2015 Quetzalcat |
