Chapter 1

"Leon!" The teaher yelled from the front of the classroom. My head snapped up in such a reckless way my neck cracked. I could tell by the way she yelled my name that she was annoyed with me, agian. Nothing was ever new with her she always found a way to pick with me even if she knew i wasnt in the mood.

"Ow!" I complained, rubbing the back of my neck. Why was that woman always testing my patentice. She stood in the front of the class with her hand on her hip and her glasses high on her face with her nose in the air. Ugh, Mrs.Booker. I hated her so much, out of 40 kids in that class she had to call on me didnt she.

"Now that your up, would you mind answering the question on the board?" Mrs.Booker asked with the same disgusting grin on her face that she used any time she felt she cornered me or caught me off gaurd.

"Uhh?" I squinted my eyes as I tried to focus enough to see the board. Of course sitting in the back of the class and having bad vision didnt help much at that point. I sighed, I couldnt see a thing. Now Mrs.Booker was going to have something she felt she could hold agianst me, or at least try too.

"Well?" She snorted, then glared at me out the corner of her eyes. The entire classes eyes were on me. Ever single person in the room was waiting for me to say something.

"Dont you thing if I could see it I would have answered the question by now?" I growled hoping it was enough to shut her up. Mrs.Booker held her head high and turned back to the board. Finally, I thought to myself. The end of it, I finally shut her up!

"If you would stay awake im sure your eyes would adjust." She said over her shoulder as if i cared what she thought. The bell rung at last! Out of that womans cluches. Ive had enough of her for one day. I swiftly got up and headed for the door.

"Leon." I heard her call my name just as i reached the door. "You do realize you have detention, right? Its called talking back and you know all to well that is something i dont take in my class room."

"What? Youve got to be kidding me!" I yelled throwing my stuff down in fustration.

"Clean up the class then you are free to go."

I couldnt help but to just look at her. She couldnt really expect me to clean the classroom. She was completely out of it. Mrs.Booker turned to her desk and put some papers away. I grabbed my bag and eased toward the door. Im out. Shes not keeping me here. I thought as I turned and walked out the door. Nice try Mrs.Booker but so many other teachers have tried to give me detention in this building and they have all failed. I dont know what made you think you were any different. I walked out the building and on the school steps Tia stopped me. She was a tan blonde and honestly i found her extremly annoying.

"If you dont start paying attention in class your going to fail." Tia said in a playful tone. I rolled my eyes and continued past her. Youd think she wouldnt even look at me anymore considering how much I ignore her.

Soon enough i was home, the front door and windows were wide open as usual. Milie must be on her usual cleaning spree. I dont understand her. She is the only 12 year old I know that cleans without being told. On the other hand she is my little sister and none of my family is normal. I thought as she poked her head out the window.

"Oh, Leon your home. Its about time!" Milie exclaimed as i walked in the house and took off my shoes. I sat down my bag as she ran to the hallway with a wooden spoon in her hand.

"Where's mom?" I asked as I walked in the living room. Thats when I heard a sudden burst of crying. "Of course." My mom when through this weird on going depression ever since her and dad got divorced she cried over everything. Things that a 2 year old would cry about she cried about. It becomes extremly annoying. Milie and i have learned to just ignore it. That or were just use to it. She needed to get over dad, I mean its been years now. Dad has even moved on. Now that i think about it, how is she the one thats depressed and she wanted the divorce. I sighed, thats my family for you. I sat on the couch and turned on the tv.

"Today we won our game in softball!" Milie exclaimed extremly loud even though i was right next to her.

"Milie, im right here. Clam down, trust me i can hear you. So what was the score?" I said flipping throught the channles.

"10 to 0!" She yelled. "Sorry"

"Thats good, I...is something burning?" I asked as the scent of burning food drifted into the room. Milie looked around for a moment not knowing what it could have been.

"Ah! The roast!" She finally figured out and ran into the kitchen to tend to it. That girl, only 12 and knows how to cook better than me. Um, maybe thats not something i should be to happy about. Oh well. I thought to myself.

After dinner i went to my room. I sat on my window seal and looked out over the woods. Im so bored. Nothing interesting ever happend here.
