A Father's Day Poem for You

A poem i wrote for my boyfriend

 

I am beyond thankful for all you do for all four of our sweet boys.

You are always there to turn their tears into joy.

There are times they feel discouraged and weak.

You are always there with a gentle hand out to help them to their feet.

You teach them the right way to talk to a woman and all other human beings.

When they are angry you remind them that anger is ok, but not to let that be a feeling they keep.

When they tug at your shirt to throw a football, you drop everything, and encourage them to get up with every fall.

When I think of the ideal father I would want for my kids I see you.

You aren’t a perfect father, no one is, but you take pride in our kids, and it shows through.

It’s not easy being a parent/step parent but you do it with grace.

I am so proud to call you mine and to have the opportunity to celebrate you as a dad today!
