Tick Tock

time moves slowly
everything slows
as time ticks
one second at a time

 

tick tock
tick tock

 

waiting on the time
wondering why it was
taking so long
watching the clock

 

its hands moving slowly
you can swear
that the hands move
backwards instead
of forward

 

tick tock
tick tock

 

watching the clock
watching its slow hands
looking away
i try again

 

still only 4:27am
still hours until
i have something to do
still sitting here bored
and alone

 

tick tock
tick tock

 

blast that damn clock!

It's a very causal and carefree writing. The words seem like the actual words inside a bored person's head. It doesn't contain any drama, suspense or even imagery. This poem is rather straightforward and simple.
