Chapter #5 - Truths are Told

A Chapter by Bryanna - QueenStephni

There was a solid raping at the front door. Demascus was the first to awaken, so he got up and answered the door. Seeing Julian, he wondered why this tall, pain in the butt, kept coming around and why he was so interested in them.

It had only been days since Julian had turned up with Mathieu unconscious in his arms and Demascus believed that Julian had done it.

“Can I help you?” Demascus asked rudely. Nodding, Julian barged into the house.

“Get everyone up; I have things to discuss with you all.” Julian said as he sat in one of the extra chairs and waited for Demascus to go and awaken the others.

Demascus walked away and noticed that Alexandria was watching from the doorway and nodded towards Isabelle’s room. Nodding in reply he knew that she would wake Isabelle. That left Mr. Sleepy Head in their room. Walking into the shared room Demascus stood above the bed and carefully shoved a large blast of demonic energy into Mathieu. Watching Mathieu struggle for breathe for a couple of seconds, he let the power slid away and moved over to his bed. He hoped that one bout would be enough.

Mathieu sat up and looked over at Demascus.

“You little…”

“It woke you up. I didn’t have the patience to do it normally and we have a big pain in the butt waiting in the lounge room for us. So get dressed and come out.” Demascus said abruptly as he turned and walked away.

After a couple of minutes everyone was dressed and was in the lounge room waiting to hear whatever Julian had to say.

Julian sat there quietly gathering his thoughts before he started to talk.

“I have something that needs to be said. You should know the king sits safely in the wastelands.” Julian began. “I have done some research and have found that he once lived among us as a normal human by name of Charles Stephenson. He fell to an enemy lance defending his lord’s castle and ascended to heaven where he took the name Kye and rose to the rank of seraphim.”

“Kye the betrayer” Alexandria interrupted.

“Yes the very same. Because of his betrayal he was cast down to hell where he took the name of Gregor and brought the demon lords to their knees and under his control.” Julian continued.

“Gregor the conqueror is a hero among some and worse then the high priest of angels to others” Mathieu said.

“You are very correct Mathieu. Using his new demon powers and army, he rose up against what he saw as ‘guardian suppressors’ and took the title of overlord of the three domains. Now is his recognized as High Overlord Balthazar the eternal. Though this is not so he has one weakness, if the guardians were to return, they could reduce him to mortality. So one skilled enough would have but to poke him with a toothpick to render him dead.” Julian said. Looking at Isabelle he spoke softly in her mind.

‘Do you not yet know what you have here, Fiera.’ He looked at Alexandria. ‘Diera.’ He looked to Mathieu. ‘And Meira’ His eyes lingering on Demascus. Isabelle blanched whiter than sheets in the breeze.

“Are you okay Isabelle?” Alexandria asked.

“Yes sweetie, I’m fine.” Isabelle answered.

“You look a bit pale.” Demascus chimed in, hoping to be rid of Julian.

“She said she was fine.” Mathieu said with a note of finality. Everybody went quiet.

“Why do you tell us this tale Julian, you of all people are most loyal to the mad king” asked Isabelle strongly.

“Because of just that. He’s mad, I fear whatever his true motives may be, that it will see the destruction of us all!” Julian replied matter of factly.

‘We must find a way to sharpen these children into the weapons that the fates wanted them to be’ he again spoke to her in her mind.

‘How?’ Isabelle thought back.

‘Come Isabelle, I know you to be a magician of some skill. Emerald Bella they used to call you, right?’ He had mentally snuck in to a corner of her mind. She struck out with a blast of power knocking him out of his chair and sending a shock wave through the children.

“Well done.” Demascus said triumphantly.

“The charade stops here!” Isabelle said loudly. “Julian I do not know how you know what you do, but we will not hide it from the children any longer.”

“Hide what, Isabelle?” Mathieu queried.

“You children are the key to felling the mad king. You hold the sacred power of the three ancient guardians and with that you are more powerful than the king that fell the originals all those years ago. You could walk into the beast’s lair and beard him in his den. Though Julian is right you will need some training.” Her eyes trailed to Julian.

‘We need time Julian.’

‘How long?’ he asked bluntly. Isabelle looked at the three children in turn and spoke to Julian's mind.

“Mathieu is probably good to go now, Demascus needs about 3 months and Alex needs at least 6 months intense training.” Julian nodded.

“12 months.” Isabelle said catching Julian off guard. “Can you keep those ‘hounds’ off us for that long?” nodding Julian answered.

“I’ll give18 months just to be sure.” Next thing Julian or the children knew Julian was being shoved out the door.

“Then off with you.” With that said the door was shut on Julian’s face.

Turning Isabelle told them everything about herself and what was going to happen over the next year or more.
