In a moment

In a moment

A Poem by Kat Leila

In a moment of peace we realize the magnitude of the storm we are in.

Temptation has disguised herself as friendly faces, that lead us into sin.

Money and popularity breeze through the air, almost tasting like freedom.

In the calm of the storm, he reaches to me and kindly I am reminded:

My load is kindly, my yoke is light.
Listen. Obey. Be blessed.

I choose in that instant to walk away, and break and change all that has been built to become this Me.

Glowing. Awake from a terrible slumber. New. Refreshed. The new me emerges like a cat from her slumber, walking with clumsy steps towards a brighter place.
