Goodbye my lover

Goodbye my lover

A Poem by Kat Leila

My lover; I let you free. Free to love and be loved as you need. Free to be discovered and be love by the heart that is ment for you. I loved you once, but that was a long while ago. And now all I see is my friend. The shoulder I can cry on, the one who on my life I could depend. But I no longer see my lover, I no longer feel the heat: of a passion so true and deep, it leaves me breathless. Its not for the wrinkles that lay around your eyes or the greying of your hair, for I am fond of that. Its for the love of you I let you go and soon you too will see: for your love for me is wasted, and not as it should be; reciprocated and returned. One day my friend, my good friend, my best friend I hope that you will see: that what I have done today isn't for me...it's for you. The love we can receive is the love we think we deserve.

Think kind of hurt to read. It definitely has its moments. The speaker to me, sounded
so empty. Misery does not always love company. This is a story of courage.
