The Truth About Mama

The Truth About Mama

A Poem by Kat Leila

broken glass

broken trash

like a child

Dj play that music

pill end the pain, take away the shakes.

music pump awakens every nerve

push that stale blood through these tied veins

watch my children sleep

through windows

now through bars

but

they

will

never

be

like

me

I like the poem. I could feel the honest and direct words. The best kind. Your words held sadness, regret and the want to be better. A powerful short poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Your words told a story of lesson and learning. Good writers teach. There was a lesson in the words.
