You...

You...

A Poem by Kat Leila

For the lack of anything better to do,
I cradle my pillow and think of you.

Past the waves of the ocean,

and the churn of the sea my thoughts take motion.

Dusty roads, and empty shops,
Thoughts echo like the slap of flip flops.

This made me almost tear up. Its simple, and short but it holds all the emotion you mean to convey so strongly. I love the subtle rhymes as well. Very nice!

I love this. You painted a beautiful picture of sorrow and longing. Missing someone can be one of the strongest emotions we feel. And sometimes, it can be very difficult to explain this emotion. But this was perfect. You took us to places and made us feel things with this. Well done, thanks for writing!

Such a simple and innocent longing. A call to remember a warm summer evening. I like it very much.

Thank you so much! Greatly appreciated!
There's something innocent and child-like about it with a hint of melancholy.

I'm glad you noticed the innocent edge....
for the lack of anything better to do I read this poem and found myself swimming ocean waves, flip flopping through dusty roads and streets and and and... well I lied, just a little one though, as I did have something to do, that is to read more of your wonderful poetry Kat...

nice, dreamy, pillowy poem ... very cool

Good to travel to good places. I like the places and vision create by the poem. The sea is my favorite place. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
