To My Son

To My Son

A Poem by Kat Leila
"

*A Prayer I Whisper As You Sleep*

"

Tucked in his bed all ready for sleep,
A silly thought begins to creep.
I'm not the best that I could be,
Someone is always better than me.

Ohh silly child, do not delay
To see the world, for a minute my way.

No boy so cleaver has ever walked,
Or sat, or ran, or jumped or talked
like you.

No boy has ever been loved like you.

In your eyes I see tomorrow,
a sudden glimpse of future borrow.
I see the world a perfect way,
a way you made possible that day.

For your hands small will not be,
Your childish youth will soon flee,
You will grow,
wisdom possess and knowledge know.

Within your heart lays possibility,
tenderness and opportunity.

So negative thought, away you creep,
Leave my child alone to sleep.
He is perfect, for this I know,
Because my heart has told me so.

I agree. It is sad to watch our kids learn the truth about life. I tried to keep my kids positive. A beautiful poem for our children. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Keep it that way. Keep the children happy and carefree for as long as possible!

I think this poem will follow and inspire your son for the rest of his life. Very lucky to have such a caring and creative mother.
