Tell me

Tell me

A Poem by Kat Leila

Tell me I'm a good person, because I've forgotten if I am. Tell me if I'm horrible and bad, so I can change and be all that I can.

People have a hard time seeing below this skin. I'm more than this body that I'm in, more than meets the eye. Far more than what you have been told by that guy.

Do you call me those names because I laugh a little too loud. Because my mind is constantly lost in a day dreamers cloud? You joked with me and I played along, but I often pretend, and I'm not that strong.

I'm sorry if this isn't who you thought I would be. I'm sorry, but its time for me to be me! I need your support and I crave your love. Ill be okay though, with a little help from above.

If you can't stand with me then stand behind me. I won't have you sitting around to remind me, off all that I'm not anymore, all that I've given up and of this I'm sure: ill be okay, its fine you see. For the first time, I'm happy with me!

I can sense your ever growing strength here in your admissions of vulnerability, your truthfulness with yourself, your insight and how your ability to observe and learn allows you to move forward in life.

When I am weakest truly is born strength
that's a good strong poem, you must have lived some of this to inject such feeling into every line and even if you have not lived it then it means your imagination is very extensive, whichever its an amazing work bravo :)
