My Esmeralda

My Esmeralda

A Poem by C.M. Dakota (Ky)
"

This poem was written for a high school English class. That doesn't take away the deep meaning it has for me, it simply lets you know the format exists for a reason.

"
She danced through fire,
My saving Grace.
Her eyes like the sea,
Set in her porcelain face.

She danced like fire,
Scorching my skin.
Her love seemed pure,
Cleansing my sin.

She was forged in fire,
Hair long and black.
I gave her so much,
Things I’ll never get back.

She was the fire,
That burned in my soul.
Flames ravaged my heart,
And now I’ll never be whole.

She IS Fire
If this is God’s plan,
He made the devil stronger,
So much stronger than I am.
