Play Pretend

Life sometimes gets hard
And often requires you to be on guard.
There's people who want to start feuds,
Let's not even mention the stress just staying alive includes.
So why go through all this,
When you can just escape with me to real happiness?

Let us forget the hardships of reality
And join me in the world of fantasy.
Let's dress up in fancy clothes as much as we want to
And to ourselves, let us be true.
Embrace your inner child,
On this day so sunny and mild.

The garden looks gorgeous today
So let us no further delay
Will you join me for a tea party?
Let us pretend we're royalty
Carefully sipping our tea
While evading reality.

People say only little kids should play pretend,
But let us ignore them my friend.
For we can do what we want
We don't need to be a specific font
Let us not worry about what others believe
Now our stress let us relieve.

I love playing pretend. You can be anyone you want. Some people like to pretend to be sane so they can function in society. But I digress. Love the Alice in Wonderland feel.
