Self Defined

Self Defined

A Poem by Que

I am my own man

I let no one define me

I do what I can

And choose who I want to be

Being friendly was my pick

Though I could’ve been impolite

With a mind like a brick

If something doesn’t seem right

Laughter is what I aim for

Whereas I might’ve been mean

This is me to the core

Which is something you’ve never seen

I am a joker for sure

Being serious is what I evade

For that there’s no cure

As it’s a habit that won’t fade

Depression is not my thing

So I chose to be fun

I try to be amusing

And misery I shun

If you aren’t satisfied by it

I don’t really care

Because This is my fit

And not just something to wear

My words might seem rude

But remember I’m messing around

This is the truth so crude

As silly as it may sound

My persona is self-created

It is what I found suitable

Deep in it is embedded

And it is marked agreeable

Who I am is my decision

Whether you like it or not

There’ll be no revision

Because this is what I’ve got
