Tick Tock

Tick Tock

A Poem by Que

Tick tock tick tock
Tick tock goes the clock

The clock ticks and the seconds go by
Seconds to hours and hours to days
Days into years... and those fly
As we grow older and must decide our ways

Decisions are being made
And people go to new lengths
As the present becomes shade
Of a future full of strengths

Meanwhile in lala lands
Someone fell behind
Still, in his place he stands
Can't seem to make up his mind

Everyone else is moving on
While he resides around himself curled
Figuring out how to live on
Stranded by the waves of the world

Tick tock tick tock
Tick tock goes the clock

Is he not trying hard enough
Or is he trying too much
Is life really that rough
Or has he lost his touch

Time is moving and so should he
He must go and take the wheel
Towards who he's meant to be
So all his scars will then heal

With the foot set down and head held high
Move on forward with a big smile
Spread your wings and let them fly
And go the distance mile by mile

Whether it's baby steps or one big jump
As long as forward is his move
He can move past every bump
And achievements he can prove

Tick tock tick tock
Tick tock goes the clock

Strive to be the best
Never give up hope
Fight through every test
And get by each slope

Always aim for the top
And make friends along the track
Who will catch you when you drop
And will always have your back

Reach your heights
And life will treat you well
Give up or run from your fights
And you create your own hell
