Friend is the word most guys fear

That is the zone they hate to get near

 

It’s a one way ticket

With no way to out of it

 

A dead zone full of pain

Where no heart can stay sane

 

All hopes are shattered

Of a life that might’ve mattered

 

Takes away every chance

Of what could’ve been great romance

 

As a guy is forced to put on an act

And hide that his love is not a fact

 

While the one he loves falls for others

And he has to sit still as he suffers

 

But he chooses to stay

As she just makes his day

 

 

To suffer in silence with her around

Is better than being alone with a heart underground

 

With one ray of hope to exist

That one day she won’t be able to resist

 

The one who was always there

Who always looked after her

 

To hang in there in wait

Is better than leaving and closing the gate
