To Fall For Fire

To Fall For Fire

A Poem by Quasi-Motorolla
"

A poem about how I fell in love with someone I probably shouldn't have.

"

I fear I have fallen for the flame

Am I to blame?

For despite my chagrin, my ire, the fire burns with a singular passion, In an all-too-familiar fashion

So close but forever far

Brash and abashed, I scribble this page and let it pass from present to past. Lord, let this memory fade fast.

Encased in crystal chrysalis

Nubile and new neath the sheen of the moon

She shimmers with delight, mesmerized by the northern lights that alight upon the horizon

After the sun set, her old life was left at the treeline.

In a coffin for the past, cocoon of lunar graft

Serene Selene convene. Insist sister Artemis return from the forest and hail Hecate from her starry seat in heaven to help hold the moon up high,  light the night,  illuminate her eyes.

I stand motionless,  mesmerized,  a deer in the headlights,

Entranced by the dance of the caged bird freed

Skin studded with diamonds, now I’m in too deep
