what am i afraid of?

fear is a real world thing.

People sometimes ask me, what scares me. It makes me think. most people would say ghosts, heights, falling. but that's not what scares me. I'm not scared of ghosts, goblins, monsters, or the dark. I'm scared of the real world, what happens every day and we hope never happens to us.

You are in your house, its night, you get thirsty and you walk to get a drink. you pass your little siblings room. you go in to check on them and notice there little chest is not moving up and down any more. cold, lifeless.

Its a summer day, you and your family are in the car. driving back from the beach. laughing having fun. its a great day, and its been some time, scream, tires squeal. crash, mother and father die, forced to grow up, and take care of your family, life falls apart.

A long night at work, you'r tired, you walk up to your door expecting to be greeted by your new wife, and the mother of your child. You notice it has been kicked in. slightly open, break in. Stepping inside you see the place a mess. You call out for you family. no response. you go to look for them. finding them. killed after catching the robber.

You'r a young girl, 14,15, 12, your mother lost your father and is now dating many guys, fallen in to drug use. a new boyfriend every week, soon the abuse starts. your mothers current boyfriend supplys her drugs, she passes out from an overdose, he starts to play out his sick fanciness on you. touching soon turns to rape. your mother wont listen. blinded by her want to be loved.

You go out for a night with your husband. leaving the sitter with your kids. Movie is canceled and you come home early, opening the door to find the babysitter playing out his sick and twisted fantasies on your children at the cost of there mentality.

There are real horrors out there. worse then those in the movies, games, and books. i fear people, reality. life. life is what scares me the most.

and for those of you out there living those nightmares. i am truly sorry.
