![]() The last judgementA Poem by Quaddeth![]() Inspired by Michaelangelo's Sistine Chapel work. The renaissance man. This story serves as a reminder to all artists that we must continue to express artisitic freedom in the midst of oppression.![]() Forty years of blisters amounting to worlds end The creation of man starting life from a pen Julius clapped his b*****d Holy hands, The Elitists beckoned Amen, Buonarroti set up his stands Work began then.
Julius’ power became apparent, a newly appointed leader. The fortunate few who avoided his wraith, named him the ‘Holy Warrior’, He needed an alibi, a justification of his cause, So he commissioned Buonarroti, 12 apostles against a starry
night, the perfect moral barrier. But Buonarroti being the man he is, wanted to bend the laws, So he drew what was in his hearth, without a seconds pause
Clichéd wasn’t in his nature, So creation Buonarroti was to capture But honesty was another of his traits, So he painted the downfall of man in all its rapture Also he painted a collection of saints In a perfect, honest, apocalyptic picture.
Buonarroti’s soul drained, As Julius’ exponent power reigned Saint Bartholomew’s shed skin held its creators face, A bothered oppressed pain, Buonarroti was restrained. © 2010 QuaddethAuthor's Note
