Sweet DispositionA Poem by QCThe sun beating down, Soaking through your skin, The warmth getting lost in your heart. So happy you smile for days. Time going by so fast Your mind spins. But that’s okay, Because a moment like this lasts forever. Short skirts and tank tops, Shorts and shades, Wild hair blowing in the breeze. The ocean cheers in excitement, Birds fly back north, Sand between your toes never felt better. Sitting outside just for the hell of it, Watching clouds go by and letting your mind wander To places otherwise left alone. Lying in the grass and closing your eyes Against the giant flaming star of our existence. Now is the time to dream, and not be ridiculed. That smile you share, just you and him. They meet and whisper words so effortless, so amazing, You’re convinced this’ll last forever. Face to the sky, clothes getting soaked. You dance like no one is watching. A moment, a love, A dream allowed, A kiss, a cry, Our rights, our
wrongs.
You smile and it never felt so right. This is what life is made of. © 2011 QCAuthor's Note
