S.O.S. Save Our Schools

S.O.S. Save Our Schools

A Poem by QRamble
"

A Tri-Fall poem

"

In the darkest reaches,

dreadful sin,

am I supposed to be hurting?

Pain sticking like leeches,

crawls on skin,

ever with death are we flirting.

I wonder what's after,

shock and awe,

illuminate only the grave.

How will we hear laughter,

hearts so raw,

wondering how I could not save.

Bottled in a moment,

jaded eyes,

when will we see change that's needed?

Emotions still potent,

how's and why's,

When will the outcry be heeded?

So, I work a travel job these days, and I've been in Nashville and the surrounding area since January. Recently, as many of you know, there was a tragic school shooting. This isn't my story, so I had no idea how to write this, but being in the vicinity made it real. I don't have kids, so I can't really relate, but now I got to see see how a community plays out in the aftermath of the event.

I remember when my daughter in first grade 2002 told me. They taught her how to take cover if they is a shooting. Two attempt at a former President life with a automatic weapon and he did not speak against. NRA owned the leaders. I was a soldier for 15 years and I held a M60 machine gun often. It is time for common sense. Guns of death should not be allowed in public. Your poem tell a hard story. What kind of world did we leave for the children? Outstanding poetry.

I believe school shooting, parent or not, it has to affect the whole community, we are human beings, most of us with feelings, a heart, an emotion... anger....and any shooting should make us aware of how dangerous it is to allow guns, period; I'm sick and tired of this nowhere gun legislation.....I think that if one loses a school age child, it is tragic for the whole community.....and it will take a long time to recover
Nice write
