Truth be ToldA Poem by Triston Taylor
I have a question. I don't want a answer. I want a definition. I want a thought process. I want to see your gears turn. Are we better then a hundred years ago? Or are we just advancing simplicity? Things have advanced yes bit ideas have not. Everything you see, touch, feel, hear, taste, all simplified to original inventions. Nothing we have is new. It's just edited. Remixed, but same beat. Mechanics change but same concept. People argue we are better today. False, people flood themselves with self indulgence. Selfish, greed, power. Three common traits in our broken society. Three common traits in our corrupted country. America, so "great", yet statistics say otherwise. I'd rather have my life already planned then proudly stand for America. We are worse and only going down. I'm 17 and concept more things then adults. Not listened to or heard. All because I can't buy cigarettes. All because I can't work 40 hours a week. Opinions used to matter, family once stuck together, only one used to hold the title as your lover. Now you're strings are one with the governmental puppeteer. Now, when it comes to fight back, very few will know no fear.
