GuinnessA Poem by PyramidboyoGuinness, It’s the third one I love Indescribable warmth, From heaven above
It lights up the night Like a spark from the sky It is no wonder No question, no why. That I took to the drink Like a man possessed It dealt with a life So utterly stressed
It loved me And boy did it care With friends I could talk I could so openly share.
The drink, the drink I can long for its taste But to take it now A life it would waste. I am free thank goodness From a head so mad Without the auld Guinness It isn’t so bad. From time to time It calls out my name But I try to remember The guilt and the shame
Of the end of my drinking That bottomless pit At the mercy of terror And a rage induced fit
I’ve accepted this way Of living and am at ease God is my helper He’s given me the keys Of a life with new peace And an indescribable joy For the devil of a man When the drink had this boy.
