Never the same way...

Never the same way...

A Poem by Alaska

Tomorrow you'll wake up in whirlpool of sweat & numbness
& the taste of heartbreak will be fresh in your mouth,
I'll come slowly at first, like the first few drops of rain before the
storm that tears everything apart & leaves you drowning,
soaking through everything you love.

& Sometimes you'll think you've got it together,
but it'll slip right through your fingers
& break all over again like it did the last time
& the time before that

You will be okay,
but you will never be okay the same way
you were when you were eleven
When you were nothing but skinned knees and honest smiles.

Oh yeah, you sound like a story teller to me. :-)

I'm wondering if this would be better if written out like a story rather than with stanzas. It would eliminate those awkward line breaks. Just a suggestion. And btw, nice writing.
