The After

The After

A Poem by Bethany Woody
"

Something that came to me after reading Ellen Hopkin's book "Burned"

"

Here I sit all alone

to contemplate the unknown.

What do we give in death,

when we sigh our last breath?

Do we go into the light,

or slip silently into night?

Do we find an eternal home,

or do we forever roam?

The choice is there for every one to make
Our decision will make us or break

The beauty of Christ's Love
The majesty of God's existance above

Faith, will you believe and receive
Or...will you walk away and leave

The choice you make will determine your way
Have a relationship with Christ and enter the pearly gate

(not apart of the "poem")
It is between you and God-
He's given us all a choice, to choose to follow Him joyfully
or don't and be in the place where it is just the absence of God- "to slip...into the night"
Jesus is the answer to a fulfilled life
