Drip Drip Drip

Drip Drip Drip

A Poem by Bethany Woody
"

Something, who knows!

"

I scratched an itch today

and made myself bleed

all over the white carpet

in the living room.

drip drip drip.

Like the leaky faucet in the kitchen

that I never have to turn on

any time I want

to wet a napkin.

drip drip drip.

Like the rain outside the window

falling steadily down

like a waterfall half dried up

from a bad drought.

drip drip drip.

Like the tears sliding down my cheeks

because you walked away

scratched me out of your life

until I bled, red on white carpet.

drip drip drip.
