Love And Fire

Comparing love and fire and how they are similar

Love is a fragile thing

Breaking at the slightest of pressure

And humans never its best caretaker

We just push on

Weaving love with everyday life

Hoping that it survives

 

Alas, control over love is so easily lost

Like control over a raging fire

Fiery anger sometimes fuels the young blood

And all tender sentiments forgotten

Scorched away by the heat of the moment

 

Love and fire

Similar in many ways

Both give you warmth

Both give the feel of safety

But both may deceive

And both may consume you

 

Passion lights up an enticing flame

Beware as the soul may easily wander

Lost in the lair of the unknown

Coaxed to bare all and give all

Until the fueling sentiment rages into a scorching fire

And the snapping sound of tender love is heard

Great flow, absolutely loved the smoothness of the lines throughout the poem, I could almost feel it carrying me away to another place! So true, love and fire can be so similar is so many ways, both can give you warmth, but if you turn up the heat too much, you get a flame that will attack, consume and burn you whole if not put out on time.
Both warm yet danger is waiting to happen, the inevitable always happens in life. And yes, we humans ARE the worst caretakers of love, aren't we? I love the lines "And humans never its best caretaker
