Childhood Is...

Childhood Is...

A Poem by Raveness

A childhood should be
learning how to ride a bicycle,
Mommy kissing your skinned knee,
licking a blue popsicle.

A childhood should contain
chasing lightning bugs,
making paper airplanes,
Daddy’s warm goodnight hugs.

A childhood should consist of
singing nursery rhythms
unconditional love
never worrying about the time

But know we’re grown ups
no more midday naps
no more sippy cups
no more wearing Daddy’s baseball cap
Now we wish we weren’t grown ups...

Your words are true. Old age make you wished you were a child longer.
"But know we’re grown ups
no more midday naps
no more sippy cups
no more wearing Daddy’s baseball cap
Now we wish we weren’t grown ups..."
Today I ensure grandchildren can play and laugh, they are able to enjoy the days of youth. Great wisdom in the poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

lovely poem great rhythm! the "know" is a little bit of a throw off in the last stanza think it's meant to be "now" :) keep up the great work
