A Dreamer

A Dreamer

A Poem by Caleb

Only if our dreams were true.

We could just fly away to

Lands of distant foamy shore,

Of mythology and lore.

Only if my dreams were true.

I’d tell that very girl to

Come with me and fly away;

To be with me and leave this gray.

Only if your dreams were true.

You’d find a man worthy to

Take you by the hand and

Kiss you like only he can.

Stupid boy, dream are dreams.

Go back to innocent gleam.

Step outside of fantasy;

Step back into reality.

I love this poem... it is beautiful. I could see myself going through all of the motions and wanting to disappear into my dreams and fantasies. Thank you for sharing

Wow!! THIS IS AWESOME! This is indeed a message for me to accept- a sad truth you know because most of the time I'm in my own world. The first stanza is excellent. Beautiful starting. Moreover the wording in good too.

''Step outside of fantasy;
Step back into reality.'' ---these lines are my favorite.

Amazing work. Keep it up.

I like the daydream quality of the poem. I picture the speaker looking out the window; as he thinks. I like how the subject changes each stanza; our, my, and your; which creates three separate situations for the reader to consider.
