Dark Energy

Dark Energy

A Poem by Caleb

Whether I cannot see you there,

You put me through life unfair.

I only wish to gaze upon

For what we see, our greatest con.

You leave us to our thoughts to muse;

The treasure we seek, we can’t refuse.

The light you bend, we do observe;

The light we follow, a beautiful curve.

You bend, you shape, you tear, you shake;

You data shared, cause minds to break.

We may never know, for you unseen;

We creatures of light, for that we need.

Darkness shapes the fabric you wear;

Our universe you are doomed to tear.

But how are we to know of you,

With our friendship so very new?

Wow! I absolutely loved this. The darkness and the eerie curiosity is described vividly. Well composed with nice vocab and rhyme scheme. The first stanza as usual is amazing.

''Darkness shapes the fabric you wear;
Our universe you are doomed to tear.
But how are we to know of you,
With our friendship so very new?''---love these.

I gotta say you've got a talent for poetry and you express feelings very well. Great Work!!

Okay. First to review. Nice-- Anyhow. To the review.

This... This is great.
I love it. I absolutly do. You used the word bend a few times in your poem. The way -you- bend the lyrics is astounding, I found myself speaking the poem aloud while reading it. Which in my opinion is a good way to know if a poem works.

(I read it in the voice of a burly irish man. Don't ask me why.)

The choice of words is beautiful. The meaning, I would say that there's alot of ways to read into this. For me this is a poem about an interaction with something dark. But not one of fear, the writer, or the speaker in this case does not fear this entity.

Nor does he hate her. (It's a she, I reckon.) He admires her. He appreciates what she is capable of, knowing she is dangerous to him, he still embraces her despite knowing the cost.

Is he suecidal? Perhaps.
Or maybe he can see things in her beyond her surface. Beyond her dark fabric.

Thank you for your poem.
