Broken

Broken

A Poem by Caleb

Like a toy, you played my heart;

To bend, to love, to play my part.

Like a toy, you set me aside;

Unaware of the hurt I now abide.

The memories I keep, taunt me now;

To show the world you’ll never allow.

The love I have, the love you never will,

left broken am I, pain is my fill.

To be set free from the past mistake,

How could I not see a fake?

The world around looked so serene;

How could I not see the broken seam?

I am lost in the failures I call my own;

The failures you will never know.

The lie I say, it will be fine;

The life I hold, borders on the line.

What life is left, in this body I possess?

What’s left in life, I am now to guess.

Deep poem. Pain is depicted in beautiful words. I can sense the emotion in each word. The rhyme scheme is amazing too. The starting captures the readers interest.

''What life is left, in this body I possess?
What’s left in life, I am now to guess.''---most powerful and very relatable.

Great work.
